International Call to Artists, Architects & Designers
The 2nd annual BECA Foundation non-juried, open-registration, international exhibition of art + design – registration is open until allocated spaces are full.

The purpose of this non-juried experimental, group exhibition is to further broaden exhibition opportunities and to discover and highlight new approaches by emerging contemporary artists, architects + designers as well as those who are more established but are stretching their work into unfamiliar territory. This exhibition provides an open opportunity in which to experiment freely without judgement. Registration is limited but guarantees exhibition. Works will be displayed salon style in a mosaic grid covering the interior of the exhibition space.

Literary Call

Peace Review, an international academic journal of social justice, is currently looking for off-theme essays and Peace Profiles (of individuals or groups dedicated to peace and social justice). We are happy to consider all submissions at this time, so please do format your essays according to our guidelines and submit them directly to peacereview@usfca.edu. Submission guidelines can be found at: http://usf.usfca.edu/peacereview/guidelines.htm.

Peace Review publishes essays on ideas and research in peace studies, broadly defined. Our essays are relatively short (2500-3500 words), and are intended for a wide readership. We are most interested in the cultural and political issues surrounding conflicts occurring between nations and peoples. Since we are a transnational journal (we distribute to more than 40 nations), we want to avoid speaking with the voice of any particular national culture or politics. Relevant topics include war, violence, human rights, political economy, development, culture and consciousness, the environment, and related issues. We do not reprint essays that have been published elsewhere.

The Multi-Arts Production (MAP) Fund, administered by Creative Capital, supports original new work in all disciplines and traditions of the live performing arts. The goal of MAP is to assist artists who are exploring and challenging the dynamics of live performance within our changing society, thus reflecting our culture's innovation and growing diversity.  Project-specific funding is provided to playwrights, choreographers, directors, composers, and performers experimenting in any performance tradition or discipline. MAP is especially interested in supporting work early in its development; the touring or documentation of completed projects is not eligible for funding. Applications for MAP grants must come from U.S. nonprofit organizations. (Artists or ensembles may apply through a fiscal sponsor.)  Applying organizations and artists must demonstrate at least two years of professional experience. Visit the MAP website http://mapfund.org/ for eligibility information and application guidelines.  The online letter of inquiry process opens September 1, 2011 with a due date of October 3, 2011.
