CAMP and Careers 2008, now in its 6th year currently accepting applications.
The Educational Coalition for Monroe County (ECMC) in collaboration with Monroe County School District and Florida Keys Community College presents the Cultural American Music Program (CAMP) and Careers 2008. Applications are currently being accepted from 7th-12th grade students. 6th annual program! NEW in 2008 for 9th-12th grade students: two career focused programs for non-music students. Culinary arts/hospitality management/tourism and film/video productions offered for dual enrollment credit for non-music students and as elective choices for music students. High school and DE credit available to qualifying students. Limited intern positions are available for FKCC college students and Monroe County teachers.

CAMP runs June 14-July 19 at Marathon School. Countywide transportation is provided. Public, private & home school students are invited to apply. Train with world renowned instructors: winds, percussion, brass, guitar (bass, classical), vocals, physical performance/theatre, rhythm, Stomp, ballroom dance, film, and culinary arts! MUSIC STUDENTS MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE YEAR PREVIOUS VOCAL OR INSTRUMENTAL INSTRUCTION (private lessons, school band, or school chorus).

Junior CAMP is open to 4-6 grade students; limited space is available based on teacher recommendation. Program cost: $400 (includes tuition, final performance attire, CAMP t-shirt, and student materials). Scholarship assistance available! SPACE IS LIMITED. Judi Bradford’s plein-air acrylic painting classes in the shady Audubon House garden, 205 Whitehead Street, have resumed for winter season. Classes are offered in weekly sessions for adults on the historic property. Materials are provided and scholarships are available. Tuition is $25 per class of instruction. Students can pay by the class. Materials are supplied.
The classes mix beginners and experienced students and participants learn from each other as well as the instructor.
Bradford has been teaching art classes for twenty years at museums and in private locations while doing illustration and commercial art. No experience for the classes is necessary; beginners are welcome. Please call 294-8645 to register or to inquire about scholarships for classes.
